The 45th Wheelchair Softball World Series has been canceled

The 2020 45th Annual Wheelchair Softball World Series (WSWS) scheduled to be held on August 6-8 in Biloxi, Miss., has been canceled.

The NWSA does not anticipate scheduling any tournament to replace the cancelation of the WSWS this year. The date and location of the 2021 WSWS will be announced at a later time.

The local organizing committee decided in consultation with local, regional, and state health officials that it would not be in the best interest of the local community, participants or volunteers to host an event that would bring participants from around the country to Biloxi. Many public health officials are not even considering guidelines regarding amateur sporting events and how they will be allowed to resume later this summer or fall.

The NWSA will leave to the discretion of each team to make the proper decisions in regards to holding practices or hosting a weekend wheelchair softball tournament this summer.

The NWSA asks that teams who had previously announced a tournament for the summer contact commissioner Bruce Froendt if a tournament is canceled.
