2026 Sports N Spokes Junior Athlete of the Year Nominations Now Open!
We’re thrilled to announce that nominations are officially open for the 2026 Sports N Spokes Junior Athlete of the Year Award!

For 43 years, this prestigious honor has celebrated the remarkable achievements of young adaptive athletes who inspire us all through their dedication, talent, and heart. As we continue this incredible legacy with our fresh new look for 2026, we’re on the hunt for the next generation of champions who are making their mark both on and off the field.
Who We’re Looking For
We want to recognize junior adaptive athletes (21 years and under) who truly shine in all aspects of their lives. The ideal candidate demonstrates:
- Athletic Excellence – Active participation in adaptive sports and competition using adaptive equipment
- Academic Achievement – Strong performance in the classroom
- Community Impact – Meaningful involvement and service to others
- Leadership – The ability to inspire and guide teammates and peers
- Character – Outstanding sportsmanship in every situation
An Award Worth Celebrating
The 2026 Junior Athlete of the Year will receive an incredible recognition package:
- $2,500 cash award
- Cover feature in the September 2026 issue of Sports N Spokes magazine
- Custom-made trophy to commemorate their achievement
- Exclusive Sports N Spokes swag package
- A place in history among over four decades of distinguished award recipients
How to Nominate
Do you know an exceptional young athlete who embodies these qualities? Parents, coaches, friends, teachers, and community members are all encouraged to submit nominations.
Whether they’re dominating the court, excelling in the classroom, or lifting up their community, we want to hear their story. Nominations will be accepted through June 15, 2026.
