Endeavor Virtual Games Registration Open

This year's Endeavor Games are going virtual

The Endeavor Games are going virtual.

Registration for the 2020 University of Central Oklahoma’s Virtual Endeavor Games has opened for the June 4-7 event hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma and Turnstone Center for Children & Adults with Disabilities In Fort Wayne, Ind. The Endeavor Games help provide children, adults and military service members with physical disabilities an opportunity to display their talents in a proper and competitive setting against individuals with similar disabilities.

There are nine individual sports challenges, including archery, air rifle shooting, cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball, track and field events and a 5K race.

Additionally, there will be e-sports gaming challenges on the Playstation 4 and Xbox with Madden NFL 20 football, NBA 2K20 basketball and FIFA soccer games.

Athletes will compete one-on-one, and tournaments will be double elimination. Brackets will be split up based on age. Athletes can choose which console they have and what game or games in which they want to participate.

Twelve live virtual Zoom sports clinics will also be offered, including archery, wheelchair football, seated track and field, boccia, powerlifting, wheelchair tennis, ambulatory track and field, swimming, goalball, cycling, Nordic skiing, paratriathlon, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis, which will be facilitated by top coaches and staff from each sport’s national governing body.

Athletes must register for a clinic in order to receive the link and password for that clinic, and there’s no limit to the amount of clinics they can attend.

There’s a team challenge that’s currently going on through early June, as well.

Registration forms can be found at endeavorgames.com/edmond/registration.
