Junior Nationals Canceled

2020 Junior Nationals canceled

Adaptive Sports USA announced late Tuesday evening that the 2020 Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals, scheduled for July 19-24 in Denver, Colo., has been cancelled due to concerns surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, Junior Committee and Colorado-based local organizing committee, we thank you for your understanding and are saddened to not bring this event to life,” says executive director Susan Rossi. “The decision has been made out of an abundance of caution for the health, safety, and well-being of the community we love and serve.”

Adaptive Sports USA says that Denver will host the Junior Nationals in 2021 and dates and venues will be made available in late summer on their website.

To keep the spirit of the junior games alive and showcase young athletes efforts to be active, Adaptive Sports USA will be highlighting all of their athletes the week of July 19-24.

They’re asking that people submit video of your favorite Junior Nationals moments and/or a short video of you being active from now through the end of June 2020.

If you submit, please keep videos short and if using your cell phone to film, be sure to turn it horizontally so it looks like a TV or movie screen.

The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) are collecting videos in the following ways.

Don’t forget that we’re still planning to award this year’s SPORTS ‘N SPOKES Junior Athlete of the Year and need your nominations. Head to the nomination form page to submit your nomination of an outstanding young athlete. Deadline for nominations is June 15, 2020
