The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is entering a historic first – an inaugural Hall of Fame class composed entirely of accomplished female players and contributors. 

Timed with the 50th Anniversary of the Women’s Sports Foundation in 2024, this milestone further boosts the momentum behind advancement for women in wheelchair basketball. The inductions are set for April 13th during the National Championships in Richmond, VA. 

The Class of 2024 inductees are:

– Dr. Andrea Woodson-Smith 

– Dr. Darlene Hunter

– Cheryl Lady Vines

Each has made their mark with standout play, coaching and leadership to grow the game and empower young athletes. Their induction spotlights the NWBA’s commitment to equity and expanding opportunities for women within the sport.
