U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team Seeks Third Consecutive World Challenge Title in Norway

The two-time defending champion U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team is set to begin its 2024 campaign at the Para Ice Hockey Women’s World Challenge in Skien, Norway. The tournament, featuring five international teams, will run from October 25-28 at Skien Fritidspark.

Team USA’s quest for a third straight title begins with a compelling matchup against Team Europe, with the puck dropping at 2:30 p.m. ET tomorrow. The Americans enter the tournament with an impressive track record, having dominated the previous two World Challenge events with perfect 4-0-0-0 records in both 2022 and 2023.

Leadership Returns to Guide Title Defense

The U.S. team maintains strong continuity in both player leadership and coaching staff. – Dr. Crystal Hnatko – Team Physician

– Heather Giardino – Athletic Trainer

– Mike Vaccaro – Equipment Manager

– Sarah Bettencourt – Team Leader (former player joining staff)
