The 2018 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para National Championships took place this weekend in Tucson, Ariz.

Athletes from all over the world came to compete at the 2018 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para National Championships this weekend at the Oro Valley Aquatic Center in Tucson, Ariz. From Friday through Sunday, athletes brought the heat, despite the chilly weather conditions.
The competition started bright and early Friday morning, where the athletes greeted 45-degree weather at an outdoor swimming pool. Thirty-seven athletes earned national titles on the second day, with nine of those athletes winning two titles in the same day.
The U.S. athletes that won two titles in the same day were Paralympians Tye Dutcher (Phoenix, Ariz.), Curtis Lovejoy (Atlanta, Ga.), McClain Hermes (Dacula, Ga.), Hannah Aspden (Raleigh, N.C.), and Elizabeth Marks (Prescott Valley, Ariz.).
Team USA left the competition with 20 records in total.
The 2018 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para National Championships was the final meet of the year for Team USA. Competition starts back up in February 2019 with athletes competing in Melbourne, Australia to launch the World Para-Swimming World Series.
