Disabled Sports USA and the NFL have teamed up to bring you the USA Wheelchair Football League.
Depending on the status of the country dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, starting in August of 2020, Disabled Sports USA will kick off its inaugural wheelchair football season.
As of now, four teams are being formed with adaptive sports organizations across the country. Angel City Sports in Los Angeles, Ability 360 in Phoenix, Ariz., Midwest Adaptive Sports in Kansas City and Great Lake Adaptive Sports Association in Chicago.
We recently spoke with GLASA program director, Micaela Venus, who discussed some of the details about the league’s formation.
Disabled Sports USA has more information on their website, including the wheelchair football rule book, finding a team and information on how you can get involved. Visit Disabled Sports USA to learn more.
GLASA will be hosting an informational clinic on May 6, 2020 that will provide more information on the league. Visit GLASA for more information on this clinic
